The only reason I did not rate it outstanding was the accommodations at two of our locations were sub-par, and two were problematic. Picked up the tour after. A suggestion: 26 people is too many for a tour group, in my view. Castlerock Golf Club is often overlooked in the rush to get to Royal Portrush and Portstewart. I loved most the walks through the gorgeous land the walk in Kinsale along the coastline, the walk up to the medieval castle with views of the ocean cliffs on the Aran Island, the walk at the Giants Causeway.
Dara was a breath of fresh air, knowledgeable and crazy fun. It offers stunningly impressive scenic views of the mountains and the sea. The Giant's Causeway is breathtaking. In addition to that, the walk across the rope ridge at Carrick-a-Rede and the the tour of DunLuce castle made for a fantastic day. Our group bonded quickly under Dara Herlihy's great leadership. I'm getting to be a pretty jaded guy; it's becoming harder to actually be wowed.
Or Dingle The whole Town! Every stop was perfectly planned, including bathroom stops. He made sure to explain facts and info on each town that we visited. Very nice rooms and amazing food. I did treasure all the musical events we did get to experience. It gave us a great mix of learning about the culture and history as well as experiencing the beauty of Ireland. The multiple stops at many of the small towns gave a real flavor of Ireland. This course offers a rare opportunity to enjoy two truly classic parkland courses that will keep you coming back for more.
